What are Dual Credits?
Dual credits allow
students to explore their interests in selected college programs. They offer students
an opportunity to experience learning in a college environment with a college
faculty member.
Upon course completion,
students earn an elective secondary school credit and are issued a college
credit on a college transcript. The course will be recognized at college
if they choose to attend a program for which the course is a requirement.
Dual
credits give students opportunities to sample post-secondary education, to work
in college labs, to experience a new environment and to build their confidence
to be successful at the post-secondary level. Dual credit programs begin and
end at various times through the regular school schedule; once students
complete their program they resume their regular classes.
